Give Back to Randolph County Today
There are many opportunities to give back at the Christians United Outreach Center. You can donate your money, time, or expertise. Whatever you feel led to do.
Monetary & Food Donations
We accept fresh and commercially frozen produce, any shelf stable food items, hygiene items, cleaning items, and paper products including diapers. Any type of food your family consumes, we can use. We can also accept commercially packaged meat, which are frozen and distributed in a frozen state.
In addition to monetary donations, other items you can donate include:
- Clean, slight worn / new clothing
- Gently used furniture
- Plastic bags
- Household items in good condition
- Collectables
- Appliances in working order
Food donations can be made at 930 S Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203
- Monday – Thursday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Friday: 9 AM – 2 PM
Have some items you want to donate? Great! Please check out the list of what makes a good donation on the Thrift Store link here. Your donations help families we serve by providing items they need and help us generate revenue to run CUOC. Please be aware that due to COVID we have less staff and volunteers here than normal, so call first to schedule a time to drop off or arrange pickup of large non-food items or large quanities of items so that we can have sufficient staff and volunteers to handle them. If you have soft goods, such as clothing or linens, they can be donated between 9am to 4pm Monday through Saturday at 930 S. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro. Please do not leave donations outside after Thrift Store hours or on Holidays (See Calendar here).
Volunteering
The Center relies on the talents and abilities of more than 300 volunteers. Volunteer for an hour, one time, or every week – the choice is yours! Volunteer opportunities exist at CUOC’s main location as well during special events and remote food distribution.
We’re blessed to have volunteers from all age groups, and we encourage school-age children to begin volunteer service through projects in the classroom or scouts. Children 15 and under can also volunteer through the Center, in the Thrift Store, or during special events with a parent or mentoring adult. Some activities may be age restricted for safety reasons. We encourage youth groups to get involved with fundraising activities as well as to assist on Saturdays with the Thrift Store.
Through the center, volunteers work as support staff and provide assistance in the following areas:
Front Office
Support includes answering the telephone, filing client files, assisting clients with paperwork, and more. Hours vary based on where you choose to volunteer.
